The EPA encourages the proper treatment and recycling of many materials that were once considered hazardous, but are now known as universal wastes.
While each state can modify and add items, many common universal wastes which MERI collects for recycling and disposal include:
- Fluorescent Light Bulbs
- Ultraviolet Tubes
- Mercury Devices
- Blood Pressure Cuffs
- E-waste (computers, monitors, televisions)
